The Reading Intensive is focused 100% on strengthening students’ skills with reading and playing written music (notes on the staff).

​

The Reading Intensive is ideal for students who any of the following are true for:

​

• Students who have felt confused, overwhelmed, or unsure if they’re “doing it right” when attempting to play a reading piece or page assigned out their book.

• Students who already enjoy reading and are wanting to improve their skills and understanding of the staff in order to gain even more independence with reading (i.e. want to be able to play written music of their choice at home anytime).

From the Reading Intensive Course, students will take away:

• Confidence in reading through strategies that can be applied to any piece.

• Level-appropriate reading exercises and pieces for continued practice at home throughout the summer.

• Certificate of course completion.

July 29th - August 1st

4:30pm - 6:00pm daily

(For students who have completed Level 2 or above.)

​

The Chord Workshop will build students’ confidence in understanding, as well as technique in executing chords - all through a fun, band-centered experience.

​

Chord Workshop is ideal for students who any of the following are true for:

​

• Students who already enjoy playing chords and are interested in applying their skills to a structured band setting.

• Students wanting to become more confident in their chord knowledge and sharpen their technique (be able to play level-appropriate chords properly and with ease).

From the Chord Workshop Course, students will take away:

• The ability to build their own chord progressions and improvise independently at home.

• Level-appropriate chord exercises and materials for continued practice throughout the summer.

• Certificate of course completion.

July 15th - 18th

4:30pm - 6:00pm daily

In the Anatomy of a Song course, students will get a first-hand experience into the process of song analysis and arrangement.

​

The Anatomy of a Song course is ideal for students who any of the following are true for:

​

• Students who are interested in studying and playing popular songs.

• (Lower levels) Students who are looking to gain confidence and proficiency in navigating piano keys/notes.

• (Upper levels) Students who are looking to get into the song-creation process by learning how melodies, chords, and rhythm work together in songs.

From the The Anatomy of a Song Course, students will take away:

• An inside look at what makes up the songs they listen to, and how these elements interact together.

• Confidence to play rhythmically with two hands at once.

• Level-appropriate “Song Models” to continue playing at home throughout the summer.

• Certificate of course completion.

Prepaid package of four or six 30-minute private tutoring sessions to be scheduled at one by one throughout the summer based on your schedule.

This package is ideal for students who any of the following are true for:

• Students who may be in need of extra support in multiple areas.

• Students who are hoping to go into the next program level in the Fall 2024 semester, but have not completed at-home practice assignments consistently during the Spring 2024 semester.

• Students who excelled in their Fall 2024 class/level and are feeling motivated to take on an individualized summer music project.

• Students/families requiring extra scheduling flexibility this summer who may not be able to attend one of the 3 main summer session courses.

1-1 Tutoring/Lesson Dates: Families will be able to book one session at a time from a calendar of available dates/times (booking calendar will open in mid-May, and those who have already purchased a lesson package at that time will have first access to the calendar).
